Clear rules.
Fair participation.
By submitting an application, the applicant — or a parent/legal guardian where required — agrees to the following Competition Regulations and Terms of Participation. These terms apply to the 2027 Aurevia International Music Competition unless superseded by a later version published before entry.
1. Eligibility & Accurate Information
Applicants must satisfy the eligibility requirements for the category and age division entered. All names, dates of birth, repertoire details, recordings and other information submitted must be accurate. Aurevia may request reasonable evidence of eligibility or identity. Materially false, misleading, incomplete or fraudulent information may result in rejection or disqualification.
2. Application Completion & Deadlines
An entry is complete only after all required information, a valid performance-video link and the applicable entry fee have been received by the relevant deadline. The First Round deadline is 14 January 2027. Only applicants selected to advance may participate in the Final Round, for which the submission deadline is 13 February 2027. Final results are scheduled to be announced by the end of February 2027. Applicants are solely responsible for internet access, upload completion, link permissions and ensuring that submitted links remain accessible through the evaluation period.
3. Entry Fees & Refunds
Entry fees are administrative and evaluation fees and are non-refundable once an application has been submitted, except where mandatory law requires otherwise or Aurevia cancels the relevant competition without providing a substantially equivalent evaluation. No refund is due for withdrawal, disqualification, inaccessible or defective submissions attributable to the applicant, scheduling conflicts, dissatisfaction with results, currency fluctuations, bank charges or third-party payment fees.
4. Performance Recordings
The applicant must have the lawful right to submit the recording. The performance must principally represent the named applicant. Editing that materially misrepresents the musical performance, impersonation, manipulated audio intended to falsify performance quality, or submission of another person's performance is prohibited. Aurevia may reject recordings that do not comply with published technical requirements.
5. Copyright & Third-Party Rights
Applicants retain ownership of their recordings and performances. Applicants are responsible for obtaining any permissions, licences or consents required for repertoire, accompaniment, performers, venues, recordings and submitted materials. The applicant represents that Aurevia's permitted use of submitted materials will not knowingly infringe third-party rights.
6. Limited Media Licence
By entering, the applicant grants Aurevia a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, resize, excerpt, display and publish the applicant's submitted name, approved biography, photograph, award status and submitted performance material solely for competition administration, results, archives and reasonable promotion of Aurevia. Aurevia will not claim ownership of the underlying performance. Where legally required, separate consent will be obtained for uses outside these purposes.
7. Minors
Applicants who are minors under the law applicable to them must enter with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian is responsible for reviewing these terms, authorising the submission and providing any legally required consent concerning personal data and media use.
8. Evaluation & Results
Evaluation is inherently artistic and subjective. Scores, distinctions and awards reflect the professional judgment applied under the competition criteria and do not guarantee admission, employment, career advancement or any future result. Decisions are final except for demonstrable administrative or calculation errors. Aurevia is not required to disclose confidential internal deliberations, comparative rankings or evaluator identities.
9. Awards & Grand Prix Cash Prize
Aurevia may award a Grand Prix, 1st Prize, 2nd Prize and 3rd Prize in accordance with the published competition results and may withhold any distinction where submissions do not meet the required standard. The Grand Prix carries a cash prize of CHF 526. Payment of the cash prize is subject to confirmation of the final result, verification of the recipient’s identity and eligibility, and provision of reasonable payment information. Any taxes, duties, currency-conversion costs or recipient-bank charges legally attributable to the winner remain the winner’s responsibility unless mandatory law provides otherwise. Aurevia may correct clerical errors in published results. A cash prize is not payable where a purported award is revoked because of fraud, material rule violation or ineligibility. Digital certificates and badges have commemorative and promotional value only and do not constitute an academic degree, professional licence, accreditation or governmental qualification.
10. Disqualification
Aurevia may reject or disqualify an entry for breach of these terms, fraud, plagiarism, rights infringement, abusive conduct, payment reversal, attempts to improperly influence evaluation, technical non-compliance or conduct that materially compromises the integrity or lawful operation of the competition. Where reasonably practicable, the organiser may request clarification before taking action.
11. Technical Failures & Force Majeure
Aurevia does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of websites, email, video hosts, payment processors or other third-party services. The organiser is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events reasonably beyond its control, including outages, cyber incidents, natural disasters, governmental action, war, labour disruption or failure of third-party infrastructure. Aurevia may reasonably extend deadlines, modify procedures, postpone or cancel affected stages when necessary.
12. Programme Changes
Before results are issued, Aurevia may make reasonable changes to dates, categories, procedures, evaluators, award structures or technical requirements where operationally necessary. Material changes affecting existing applicants will be communicated through the website or registered contact details. Changes will not be made for the purpose of unfairly disadvantaging a particular applicant.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aurevia and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or purely economic losses arising from participation. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, aggregate liability arising from an individual application will be limited to the entry fee actually paid for that application, except to the extent such limitation is prohibited by mandatory law, including liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
14. No Waiver of Mandatory Rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer, privacy or other mandatory law. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
15. Privacy
Personal information will be processed for application administration, payment reconciliation, communications, evaluation, fraud prevention, results and legally required recordkeeping in accordance with the published Privacy Policy. Applicants should not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information. Payment-card data should be handled by the designated payment provider rather than stored directly by Aurevia.
16. Communications
Applicants are responsible for providing a functioning email address and checking competition communications, including spam or junk folders. Notices sent to the registered address or published through the official applicant channel will be treated as competition communications.
16A. Swiss Data Protection
Personal data shall be processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and other applicable data-protection requirements. Before applications open, the Organiser will publish a separate Privacy Policy identifying the data controller and its contact details, the categories and purposes of processing, recipients or categories of recipients, applicable retention practices, international data transfers where relevant, and the means by which data subjects may exercise their rights. Where mandatory foreign data-protection law applies to a particular applicant, the Organiser will comply with such mandatory requirements to the extent applicable.
17. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms, the Competition and the contractual relationship between the applicant and the Organiser are governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules, to the extent that such choice of law is permitted by applicable mandatory law. The parties shall first attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute through written communication. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection or jurisdiction rules that cannot lawfully be excluded, the competent courts at the Organiser’s registered seat in Switzerland shall have jurisdiction.
18. Entire Agreement & Updates
These Competition Regulations, the Privacy Policy, the applicable application page and any category-specific rules form the agreement governing participation. Aurevia may update terms for future application periods. For an accepted entry, the version presented at the time of submission will ordinarily govern unless a change is required by law or is clearly beneficial to the applicant.
